Century Entertainment International Holdings Limited declared a postponement of the debut of its extensive live table gaming activities at its newest Cambodian casino. This delay is attributed to the recent spike in COVID-19 infections within the nation.
Initially, the firm intended to relocate its gaming tables from their current site in Sihanoukville to the new Dara Sakor casino in February. This was rescheduled to March as a result of the pandemic. Nevertheless, because of the lockdown protocols implemented in Cambodia, arrangements for the new casino experienced setbacks, causing a further postponement of the opening to April. Century Entertainment indicated that the property owner notified them of this decision.
“As communicated earlier, the anticipated reopening of the new casino for the general public was March 2021,” Century Entertainment stated. “However, commencing February 20, 2021, the escalation of COVID-19 cases among the Cambodian populace has generated additional interruptions to commercial operations in Cambodia.”
“The company received notification from the assignor regarding their determination to defer the reopening preparations for the new casino,” the announcement continued.
Century Entertainment highlighted that the “refurbishment and setup of equipment for the new gaming tables are finalized,” but system evaluations and personnel instruction are still pending. The company conveyed its commitment to “endeavor to reopen the new casino by late April 2021, if not sooner.”
