The Global Betting Integrity Association (GBIA) will broaden its anti-manipulation and integrity operations in Brazil.
GBIA declared that this expansion is due to the forthcoming regulation of sports wagering in Brazil, the swift growth of the sports wagering market, and past events of match-fixing in the nation.
The organization added that according to H2 Gambling Capital, 60% of the Brazilian remote gambling market is comprised of GBIA members.
Khalid Ali, Chief Executive Officer of GBIA, stated the organization is eager to expand its influence in Brazil.
Ali remarked, “We welcome the Brazilian government’s decision to regulate the sports betting industry, which is a very positive development. GBIA looks forward to collaborating with policymakers to ensure that Brazil can fully benefit from a lively and competitive sports betting market, while mitigating the risk of match-fixing.”
Ali added that the expansion will enable the integrity organization to deploy its comprehensive anti-manipulation technology, which will counter match-fixing attempts in Brazil.
He continued, “Unlike commercial monitoring systems, GBIA is able to track transaction activity associated with individual consumer accounts, rather than just analyzing simple odds changes.”
Reliable, regulated sports wagering companies have a powerful motivation to aid in the fight against match manipulation. The IBIA aspires to be a frontrunner in preventative measures within Brazil.
The IBIA’s specialized knowledge, along with its surveillance and early detection network, will be vital in assisting Brazil in effectively preventing, investigating, and bringing to justice match-fixing activities.
The IBIA recently revealed that it received forty questionable signals during the initial three months of the current year.
