The state’s consumers placed a total of $28.5 million on sporting events in July, a 60.0% rise from $18.2 million in the same month last year, but a 16.2% decrease from $34 million in June.

Gross gaming income from sports wagering reached $2.7 million, a 22.7% increase from $2.2 million in July 2021, and also an 8.0% increase from $2.2 million in June, despite the higher activity last month.

All income was generated by DraftKings, with Scoreboard losing $190 for the month. The Oregon Lottery’s Scoreboard online sports wagering platform has been phased out and replaced by DraftKings, but it still pays out bets placed before the process began, meaning that a small amount of negative income is expected.

Baseball was once again the most popular sport among consumers, with a total activity of $14 million and gross gaming income of $1.7 million. All of this activity was through DraftKings.

DraftKings also received $3.2 million in football bets, generating $251,804 in revenue, while tennis betting also reached $3.2 million, generating $215,644 in revenue. Other sports wagering totaled $5.6 million in activity, generating $465,506 in revenue.

The betting board processed a total of $349 in wagers – $20 for tennis, $329 for other athletic events. The only earnings came from the $20 in tennis wagers, while the other sports bets resulted in a $120 deficit.

DraftKings collected $21 million in individual and combination bets, and $7.5 million in combination bets. The betting board handled $320 in individual and combination bets this month, and only $29 in combination bets.
